Position: Dallas County Assistant District Attorney – Civil Litigation (Grade IV)
Duties: Handle claims and litigation (State and Federal Court) brought against the County and its employees (or brought by the County); including torts, civil service, contracts, andother disputes.
Qualifications: Graduation from accredited law school; current license to practice law in the State of Texas; member in good standing with the State Bar of Texas; 2 years and 6 months of experience practicing law; and must pass background check.
Preferences: Prefer minimum of 2 years and 6 months of civil litigation experience; experience with a governmental entity or private firm with an emphasis on representing municipalities or counties is preferred; strong background in research and writing for litigation pleadings and briefs. Experience with depositions and hearings and trials a plus.
Annual Salary Range: $103,725.36 to $124,420.08 (commensurate with qualifications and experience) plus benefits.

Duties: Advising the County and its Departments on a variety of civil legal issues; preparing written legal opinions; preparing and reviewing contracts on behalf of the County and its departments; preparing agenda items for Commissioners Court, and other duties as assigned.
Qualifications: Graduation from accredited law school; current license to practice law in the State of Texas; member in good standing with the State Bar of Texas; 2 years and 6 months of experience practicing law; and must pass background check.
Preferences: Prefer minimum of 2 years and 6 months of civil advisory experience; experience with a governmental entity or private firm with an emphasis on representing municipalities or counties is preferred; strong transactional/advisory background.
Annual Salary Range: $103,725.36 to $124,420.08 (commensurate with qualifications and experience) plus benefits.

Duties: Representing the State in civil asset forfeiture litigation matters; reviewing cases submitted by law enforcement agencies; draft motions; drafting, arguing, and/or defending a full array of motions, including motions for summary judgment and other pre trial and post-trial motion; drafting, preparing, and responding to discovery; evaluation and negotiating settlements.
Qualifications: Graduation from accredited law school; current license to practice law in the State of Texas; member in good standing with the State Bar of Texas; 2 years and 6 months of experience practicing law; and must pass background check.
Annual Salary Range: $92,953.08 to $104,919.84 (commensurate with qualifications and experience) plus benefits.
