DFW Dragon Boat, Kite, and Lantern Festival
DAABA’s Legal Lions raced to glory
during the annual DFW Dragon Boat, Kite, and Lantern
Festival in Irving on May 17. The Legal Lions (last
year’s Lawyer’s Cup Champions) had no competition in the
Lawyer’s Division this year, and entered the Community
Division. The Legal Lions won all three of its
head-to-head races, ending the day with a 3-0 record.
Since the Legal Lions had the second best time of the
day (1:18:40) the team took second place in the
Division. The Organization of Chinese Americans, which
lost against our Legal Lions in a head-to-head race,
ultimately eked out the Division title with a best time
of 1:18:17.
Congratulations to our team (and our team captains who
are already planning for next year’s event)! DAABA would
like to thank our captains, all the team members, and
the family, friends, and fans who bought food, drinks,
tents, chairs, and lots of good cheer.
